Every once in a while, life changes in a single moment.
For our family, that moment came when my wife, Jen, was diagnosed with a rare soft tissue sarcoma.
What was once an ordinary life quickly became filled with specialists, scans, biopsies, treatment plans, and difficult conversations no family is ever prepared to have.
Today, Jen is preparing for one of the biggest battles of her life.
But she's not fighting alone.
Why chemotherapy comes first...
Unlike many cancers, Jen's tumor originated within the nerves of her arm and has grown outward.
Because of where it's located, surgery isn't simply about removing a tumor.
It's about protecting everything around it.
Jen's sarcoma specialists have chosen to begin with several months of chemotherapy before surgery—not because they're delaying treatment, but because they're fighting for the best possible outcome.
By shrinking the tumor first, they hope to remove the cancer while preserving the nerves that control her arm. Their goal is not only to save Jen's life, but also to preserve the use of her arm and give her the greatest opportunity to return to the life she loves.
That hope means everything to us.
